The Give Act: Compulsory Service, Human Chipping And A Ban On Christian Evangelism?

Following the overwhelming passage of "The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act" by the House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate has approved their own version of a national service bill. Most Americans do not realize that this bill contains provisions for mandatory "service learning", electronic citizen identification and a ban on Christian evangelism for all service participants.

An earlier version of the House bill actually would have created a Congressional Commission on Civil Service which would have been given a mandate to create "a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people." After a huge uproar this section was removed, but it could still be restored during the Senate-House conference committee meeting.

But even if it is not reintrodued into this bill, the "mandatory service requirement" is very, very much alive. The reality is that a new, separate bill containing that language has now been introduced in the House.

In addition, Section 1203 is still in the bill, and it contains this frightening provision: "service-learning is a MANDATORY part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency."

So what will "mandatory service-learning" mean for our young people?

Your guess is as good as mine.

But we do have an idea of what is will NOT include.

One of the most frightening things about this bill is that it purports to ban the free speech rights of anyone involved in any of the service programs. Just check out the list of "banned" activities for anyone involved in the "volunteer" army.....

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities;
(1) Attempting to influence legislation
(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.
(3) Assisting, promoting, or deterring union organizing
(4) Impairing existing contracts or services or collective bargaining agreements.
(5) Engaging in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the outcome of an election to any public office
(6) Participating in, or endorsing, events or activities that are likely to include advocacy for or against political parties, political platforms, political candidates, proposed legislation, or elected officials.
(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.
(8) Providing a direct benefit to –
(A) a business organized for profit;
(B) a labor organization;
(C) a partisan political organization;
(D) a nonprofit organization that fails to comply with the restrictions contained in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 except that nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent participants from engaging in advocacy activities undertaken at their own initiative; and
(E) an organization engaged in the religious activities described in paragraph (7) unless Corporation assistance is not used to support those religious activities.
(9) Conducting a voter registration drive or using Corporation funds to conduct a voter registration drive.
(10) Such other activities as the Corporation may prohibit.

Did you get all that?

All the "volunteers" in all of the government programs in the bill will be banned from being involved in politics, protests, unions or in the leadership of any religious organization.

That seventh item in the list is particularly disturbing.

The U.S. government plans to create a massive horde of young people who are "serving" the United States who will be banned from serving the Lord Jesus Christ and from sharing the gospel with their friends.

Talk about the secularization of American society - a bill which seeks to get countless thousands of young Americans involved in "national service" and which will prohibit them from serving God.

What kind of insanity is this?

Also, almost nobody is talking about section 1710 of this bill. It is absolutely shocking if you stop and think about it.....

"STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A CENTRALIZED ELECTRONIC CITIZENSHIP VERIFICATION SYSTEM. (a) Study- The Corporation for National and Community Service shall conduct a study to determine the effectiveness of a centralized electronic citizenship verification system which would allow the Corporation to share employment eligibility information with the Department of Education in order to reduce administrative burden and lower costs for member programs."

Excuse me?

A centralized electronic citizenship verification system?

How would this be accomplished?

Would we all have to get microchipped?

The reality is that this bill is full of provisions regarding how the U.S. government owns us (especially our young people) and regarding how they want us to "serve" them.

The truth is that the economy is a mess, wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and in several other covert locations have stretched the U.S. military beyond the breaking point, and many American cities need to be rebuilt. So now the Obama administration will use the cheap, conscripted labor of young people to get things fixed.

It's called involuntary servitude.

But this is what some in the Obama administration have been eyeing for quite some time.

Barack Obama's new chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is the coauthor of a book that calls for, among other things, compulsory national service for all Americans between the ages of 18 to 25.

The following quotes are from pages 61-62 of the book Emanuel coauthored in 2006 entitled "The Plan: Big Ideas for America":

It's time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every young American. Under this plan, All Americans between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service. ...

Here's how it would work. Young people will know that between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, the nation will enlist them for three months of civilian service. They'll be asked to report for three months of basic civil defense training in their state or community, where they will learn what to do in the event of biochemical, nuclear or conventional attack; how to assist others in an evacuation; how to respond when a levee breaks or we're hit by a natural disaster. These young people will be available to address their communities' most pressing needs.

Now keep in mind that the person who wrote that is going to be the new White House chief of staff.

Wow.

Just check out Emanuel talking about the plan for mandatory national service in the following YouTube clip. It certainly sounds like these plans are very solid and very serious.....



The frightening thing is that it looks like some of Emanuel's ideas are already being implemented by the new administration.

The official website of President-Elect Obama, Change.gov, originally announced that Obama would soon "require" that all students in middle school all the way through college would be forced to participate in community service programs.

Fortunately, the Internet exploded with outrage, and the website's wording was quickly softened.

But before the change, this is what Obama's website said about this program: "Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year."

I think that we have had enough of "Patriot acts" and I know that most young Americans do not want to be part of any kind of a draft.

The U.S. government is taking more control over our lives than ever before, and still most American seem like they could care less.

If the possibility of "mandatory national service", chipping humans for identification and a ban on Christian evangelism are not enough to get American voters upset, then what will?

Amanda Knox

Most Americans do not know who Amanda Knox is, but the 21 year old American exchange student is now one of the most famous people in Italy. She is at the center of an extremely controversial murder trial there, and she is getting a level of media attention that is normally reserved for pop stars.

Knox was voted the top woman in a "person of the year" poll conducted by an Italian television channel in December, and CNN reported that there are now 11 Facebook pages dedicated to her. The media in Italy call her "Foxy Knoxy", and she has quickly become a household name throughout that nation. She has even appeared on the cover of People magazine.

86 media organizations sent 140 writers to cover the opening of her trial in January. Television programs in Italy have been routinely interrupted with updates from the trial.

So why such a big fuss?

Well, Knox and her Italian former boyfriend named Raffaele Sollecito are accused of murdering and sexually assaulting British exchange student Meredith Kercher on November 1st, 2007.

Kercher was one of Knox's roommates at the time.

The allegation is that Kercher was murdered because she would not join "a drug-fueled sex game" that Knox, Sollecito and a man named Rudy Hermann Guede were participating in.

Prosecutors believe that Sollecito held Kercher down by her wrists while Knox jabbed at her with a knife and Guede brutally sexually assaulted her.

The prosecution says that the evidence includes DNA traces of Knox and Kercher on a kitchen knife belonging to Sollecito that is believed to be the murder weapon, DNA traces from Sollecito on her bra strap, and a handprint from Guede on Kercher’s bloody pillow.

While all of this is shocking enough, what most American media outlets fail to mention is that it is being alleged that Amanda Knox stabbed Meredith Kercher to death as part of a Satanic ritual.

Prosecutors claim that comic books found in Sollecito's apartment portray graphic tales of killing female vampires on Halloween night, and that many of the details in the comic books were strikingly similar to the murder scene that was discovered by the police.

In fact, Meredith Kercher had gone to several Halloween parties dressed as a vampire just the night before.

Nobody knows for sure to what degree Satanism was involved in this murder, and the defendants are not admitting any involvement with the occult.

But what is known is that Italy has become a raging hotbed for Satanism. The Vatican's chief exorcist, Father Gabriele Amorth, says that there are now more than 8,000 Satanic cults actively operating in Italy alone, and that approximately 700,000 Italians are involved in them.

Last month alone police investigated four Satanic ritual break-ins in Perugia, including one ritual break-in at the sealed murder scene of Meredith Kercher.

But whether the Kercher slaying was a Satanic ritual murder or if it was just a twisted sex crime, the reality is that these types of incidents are on the rise all around the world. This is what happens when society rejects God and becomes more dark and more evil. The forces of evil are on the march all around the globe, and the only way to overcome them is to turn to the Lord God.

Mexican Drug War

There is a nation on earth where thousands of people are dying in a brutal drug war, where the national government is about to collapse, where police chiefs and politicians are regularly targeted for assassination, and where "acid baths" have become one of the most preferred ways of making dead bodies disappear.

Does that sound like some far away third world hellhole?

It's not.

The name of the nation is Mexico, and it is just south of the United States.

In fact, because of drug violence, the area around the U.S./Mexican border is a war zone that authorities claim is now more dangerous than anywhere in the Middle East.

Things have gotten so bad that now the U.S. government is actually doing something to tighten security along the border. The federal government is concerned that the Mexican drug lords are getting guns from inside the United States - as if they couldn't get guns from a multitude of other sources if they needed to.

The brutal Mexican drug war has also created a huge demand for hitmen and acid baths. The most glaring illustration of this is when the authorities arrested Santiago Meza Lopez in January. Known as "the soupmaker", the 45 year old man has admitted that he made about 300 bodies, victims of murderers for hire, disappear by dissolving them in acid baths.

Official estimates are that 5,300 people were killed in Mexico in 2008 due to the drug war, but the actual numbers are probably far higher.

Now U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is claiming that an "insatiable" appetite in the United States for illegal drugs is to blame for much of the drug violence plaguing Mexico.

And you know what?

She is right.

Drug addiction in the United States continues to soar past epidemic levels. It is a national crisis that never seems to go away, and there is a ton of money in servicing all of those junkies.

It is also fueling the rise in gang violence across the U.S.

Federal authorities claim that there are now over 1 million members of criminal gangs inside the United States. These 1 million gang members are responsible for up to 80% of the crimes committed in America each year.

It just isn't big cities either. Smaller cities such as Omaha, Nebraska and Nashville, Tennessee have a massive gang problem. According to USAToday, 58% of state and local law enforcement agencies reported that violent criminal gangs were active in their areas last year, up from 45% in 2004.

The reality is that urban America is overrun with gang violence. When they aren't killing each other, they are raping, murdering and intimidating the communities around them. Wherever gangs are active, home invasions are common and drug dealing is rampant.

There are many areas of the United States now where you simply DO NOT go out of your home at night. People are literally prisoners in their own homes.

And all of this economic chaos is just making the situation that much worse. You have a horde of young men that can't get jobs and that do not see a positive future for themselves in society.

GANG LIFE IN EAST L.A. by Joseph Rodríguez

East L.A. has long been a neglected neighborhood with a predominately Mexican population. It has one of the nation's highest drop out rates from schools, youth unemployment hovers around seventy-five percent in the most neglected areas, and teenage pregnancy is at an all time high in this community. There is an aspect of suicide among many of these gang kids (between ten and twenty-one years old) whose options have been cut off-no education, no work, and no opportunities for advancement. They stand on street corners and parks, flashing gang signs, inviting bullets. Its either la torcida (prison) or death: a warrior's path when even self-preservation is not at stake. And if they murder, the victims are usually the ones who look like them, the ones closest to who they are-their mirror reflections. They murder and they're killing themselves, over and over.

The truth is that when a nation rejects God and teaches their youth to do the same, this is what happens. We should not surprised that the youth of America have become godless, brutal and violent. America has rejected God, and this gang problem is just one more symptom of that. In 2 Timothy 3:1-4, it describes how people would become in the last days.....

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God"

So if you live somewhere that is being overrun by gangs, what do you do?

You move.

For the sake of your family move somewhere safe.

Although soon will anywhere be safe?

The reality is that the world is becoming more wicked every day and the future looks really dark.

The Death Of The Dollar

Are we going to witness the death of the dollar in our generation? The truth is that any major currency not backed by gold in the history of the world has eventually failed, and the actions currently being taken by the U.S government and the Federal Reserve are speeding up the day when the dollar will collapse as well.

Sometimes words are not enough to describe a really bad situation. Hopefully the chart to the left will help all of you get an idea of what is happening to the dollar. This chart originally comes from the Federal Reserve itself. The chart shows the U.S. monetary base from 1960 until today. From 1960 until about 1980, the amount of currency in circulation was increasing, but it was fairly stable. From 1980 to the middle of this decade, the amount of currency in circulation just exploded, but the key to this chart is the end.

If you look at what is happening today, the amount of dollars in circulation is absolutely shooting through the roof. Now, a lot of this cash which the U.S. government and the Fed have injected into the economy has not gotten into the hands of the person on the street yet, so we are still experiencing the beginnings of a deflationary depression. But eventually all of the money they have injected will get out there into the general economy.

When that happens, there will be a whole lot more dollars in circulation than before but about the same number of goods and services. Do you know what happens when that situation exists?

Inflation.

The reality is that because of what the U.S. government and the Fed are doing to the dollar, we are going to be facing rip-roaring inflation of a kind that Americans have never known.

And it will effect everyone.

For example, maybe you make good money now, but how far will your paycheck stretch when a loaf of bread costs ten dollars?

Perhaps you have spent decades sticking money in a bank account. Well, inflation acts like a massive tax. When you wake up and your bank account only buys half of what it could buy the year before, how will you feel?

There is no other way for this current economic situation to play out.

The U.S. government and the Fed decided to spend their way out of the current economic crisis by cranking up the debt spiral one more time and by devaluing the dollar.

So we will see massive inflation - it is just a matter of how soon it will hit and how bad it will be.

What should you do?

Buy what you are going to need (food and supplies) right now while your dollars still have some value. Your dollars are never going to be more valuable than they are right now.

If you are trusting in a big bank account to be your security blanket in the future then you are going to be very disappointed as the dollar crumbles and your riches quickly fade.

World Hunger

As world food reserves sit at a 50 year low, many experts are warning that we are now facing a "perfect storm" that will dramatically increase world hunger.

Record droughts and freak weather around the globe are threatening to absolutely destroy harvests from Australia to Argentina, just as diseases like "wheat rust" and other crop plagues are beginning to sweep across large areas.

Most people think that big countries like the United States are immune from world famine, but the truth is that the U.S. only has enough wheat held in reserve to make half a loaf of bread for each citizen.

How long do you think that will last you?

Now the United Nations is acknowledging the seriousness of the crisis.

In a stunning new report, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is warning that poor people around the world are already feeling the pain of high food prices. The price of important crops such as rice, which is a key staple in many poor countries, spiked more than 400 percent last year. Food riots broke out in many third world countries last year when people could suddenly not feed their families.

Things are not so bad yet in more advanced nations where food represents about 10 to 20 percent of consumer spending, but in developing countries the poor often have to spend up to 80 percent of their income on food.

Britain's chief scientist, Professor John Beddington, says that the demand for food is going to increase by about 50 percent by 2030, and that this will cause massive world problems in the years ahead.

"It's a perfect storm," he told the GovNet Communications Sustainable Development 09 conference in London. "We're not growing enough food, so we're not able to put stuff into the reserves."

The reality is that the world is running out of food and people are hungry.....

*1 billion people in the world go to bed hungry every single night.

*Every 3.6 seconds someone starves to death and 3/4 are children under the age of 5.

*More than 2.8 billion people, close to half the world's population, live on less than the equivalent of $2 a day.

*More than 1.2 billion people, or about 20 per cent of the world population, live on less than the equivalent of $1 a day.

*About one-third of all children in the world under the age of five suffer from malnutrition.

*The top fifth (20 per cent) of the world's people who live in the highest income countries have access to 86 per cent of world gross domestic product. The bottom fifth, in the poorest countries, have about one per cent.

*The assets of the world's three richest men exceed the combined gross domestic products of the world's 48 poorest countries.

We could very well be on the verge of the worst outbreak of starvation and hunger in the history of humanity.

Please store up food for yourself and your family, and urge your governments to do something while there is still time to prepare.

HR 1388: The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act

Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed "The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act" which includes a provision that calls for the development of a plan to implement a "mandatory service requirement for all able young people". In other words, that means that ALL young people will be required to give up part of their lives to serve the U.S. government.

The "GIVE" Act was passed in the House by a 321-105 margin and it now goes to the Senate for approval. You can find the full text of the bill here:

Section 6104 of The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act requires that a commission be established to investigate, "Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds."

A One World Currency?

The current financial crisis has caused more discussion about the creation of a one world currency by financial and governmental authorities than ever before. Wildly fluctuating exchange rates and currency manipulation by governments around the world are being touted as two reasons for this current economic mess. So to fix this mess, many are now openly advocating the adoption of a true one world currency.

For example, the Russian government is recommending that the G20 summit in London in April should seriously consider creating a “super-reserve currency” which would eventually inevitably become a one world currency.

The Itar-Tass news agency is reporting that the Kremlin's website is calling for “the creation of a supra-national reserve currency that will be issued by international financial institutions.”

But Russia is not alone. Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev is also openly calling for a one world currency.

Nazarbayev says that "we must create a single world currency under the aegis of the United Nations."

Nazarbayev's view is echoed by Canadian economist and Nobel prize winning professor Robert Mundell. Mundell, who was a key intellectual force behind the creation of the Euro, is also actively promoting the idea of one world currency.

WorldNetDaily reports that Mundell told the Australian News this: "I must say that I agree with President Nazarbayev on his statement and many of the things he said in his plan, the project he made for the world currency, and I believe I'm right on track with what he is saying."

The truth is that a one world currency has been the goal of globalist organization such as the Council on Foreign Relations for a long time. In a 2007 issue of their Foreign Affairs magazine, the published an article entitled, "The end of national currency" in which they recommended that "countries should abandon monetary nationalism."

So how would such a currency come about?

Basically a one world central bank owned and run by the international banking elite would print, issue and control the single currency of the entire world. In many ways this represents one of the ultimate goals of the international bankers.

Imagine what you could do if you had total control over the currency of the whole world.

Hopefully this move will be resisted and we will not see a one world currency for quite some time.

The Tent Cities Of America

Is it not obvious at this point that the United States of America is in the early stages of a depression?

Randy Johnson, the COO of Destiny, says this about the plans for the city:

"The vision of the Destiny team is to develop a truly sustainable community, which guarantees the preservation and protection of the region's land and its natural habitats, while also providing unique employment opportunities."

The plans are for Destiny to be surrounded by waterways, lakes, open spaces, and agriculture buffers in order to prevent the future possibility of "urban sprawl". There are also plans to build homes "in every price range" in order to "encourage diversity". Is that practical? I guess we'll find out when one family realizes that they paid twice as much for their house as their neighbors did.

Developer Anthony V. Pugliese, III and Fred DeLuca, the cofounder of Subway restaurants, worked together to buy the land for Destiny in 2005. The city is located within easy driving distance of Vero Beach, Orlando and Disney World.

So will this work? Are eco-sustainable cities a realistic proposition in an economy and a real estate market that are falling apart? Can an environmental "utopia" really be achieved?

Perhaps not, but you have to give them credit for trying.

New Survey - Less Than 1% Of 18 - 23 Year Olds Have A Biblical Worldview

A shocking new survey by the Barna group reveals that less than 1 percent of all Americans between the ages of 18 and 23 have a Biblical worldview. This new data clearly shows that the youngest adults in America have clearly rejected traditional Christian teaching.

The survey defined having a Biblical worldview as holding the following beliefs:

*Believing that absolute moral truth exists
*Believing that the Bible is completely accurate in all of the principles it teaches
*Believing that Satan is considered to be a real being or force, not merely symbolic
*Believing that a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by trying to be good or by doing good works
*Believing that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth
*Believing that God is the all-knowing, all-powerful creator of the world who still rules the universe today.

So what do these numbers mean?

They show that we have failed and have almost totally lost an entire generation of American young people.

They also show that truth is in a lot more trouble in America than we may have wanted to think.

Meanwhile, the Christian Science Monitor is writing about the "coming evangelical collapse" that they believe is coming. They predict that "within two generations, evangelicalism will be a house deserted of half its occupants."

That is frightening.

So is the church failing in America?

Is it changing into something else?

I'd consider whether or not church attendance decline represents a decrease in Christianity or just a decrease in church involvement. From what I am hearing all around the country, solid Christians are discouraged about what the churches are doing and the lack of effectiveness in training, equipping and outreach in their emphasis.

Years ago, the typical church schedule included Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday nights for the average Christian family. This allowed for several times each week emphasizing the different aspects of the Christian life.

Today, most families' schedules are so hectic, they primarily only go on Sunday mornings. Many churches emphasize reaching out to those who are lost or guests and lack the biblical training and equipping of Christians in the Sunday morning service. Some have Sunday small groups but these too are often lacking in equipping Christians for maturity and outreach - if the families attend anyway.

All of this to say, many mature believers are standing back from their church involvement asking themselves why they are there. Some are leaving for smaller groups that are more focused on issues important to them and authentic connection with others for edification and challenging support.

I have personally seen more church "splits" than I can remember. These are often quarrels about the church structure or leadership vs. members. When the split occurs, there is a remnant that moves on to more powerful service, ministry, and personal growth. Typically 1/3 stays with the church organization, 1/3 moves on to a new work together and 1/3 wander around for a season not motivated to do anything. I wonder if God is allowing us to divide to get us out of our comfy places, the familiar daze of the moderate Christian life.

I heard a Christian leader say recently, "If we don't change the way we do church, we will lose an entire generation". I take this a little further and say we have already lost many and it is very important that we consider how we must change in order to be the powerful life changing entity that God intended us to be.

I pray that Christians will be more equipped each week for the ministry of the streets! We may find ourselves forced into smaller groups so we'd better get used to closer quarters and relationships.

But as bad as all of this sounds, the truth is that God always has a remnant.

We will probably start to see more house churches and more underground movements.

We will probably see quite a few of the high profile "megachurches" fail.

As society increasingly rejects Biblical principles, we will see more persecution of Bible believing Christians.

But persecution always invigorates the true church.

The reality is that the church has been a mess for a long time, and now the decay is starting to show.

But sometimes when things look the darkest God does His most amazing work.

The Religion Of The Future? Christianity On The Decline In America

The new American Religious Identification Survey shows that most religions in the United States are losing members rapidly. According to the survey, the percentage of Americans who call themselves Christians has dropped more than 11% since 1990. The survey reports that Catholics, Baptists and other mainline Protestants have seen large drops in numbers.

The number of Americans who claim no religion at all is now 15%, which is up from 8% in 1990. Islam, Wicca and eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism also show large gains.

But even those who still call themselves Christians do not necessarily hold to traditional Christian beliefs any longer. Two other recent surveys show that the majority of American Christians believe that accepting Jesus Christ as savior is NOT the only way to eternal life.

USAToday recently reported on an almost unbelievable new survey that has found that 52 percent of American Christians believe that eternal life is not exclusively for those who accept Jesus Christ as their savior.

A different survey that was taken last year by the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life found that 57 percent of evangelical Christians in America believe that "many religions can lead to eternal life".

That shocking study revealed what many Christians have known for quite some time - apostasy among "evangelical Christians" is spreading, and it is spreading rapidly.

Evangelical Christians are supposedly those who follow the teachings of the Bible the closest. But this survey shows that even a majority of them do not even believe in the most fundamental precepts of the Christians faith.

For example, John 14:6 says the following:

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

If there was another way for our sins to be forgiven, then why did Jesus need to die on the cross? If there were other ways to salvation, then Jesus could have come down to earth, pointed out a bunch of other ways to get to heaven, and then could have gone back up to heaven without having to deal with the cross.

But the reality is that there was no other way for our sins to be paid for.

And yet these new surveys reveal that a majority of American Christians now believe that there are other ways to heaven.

The Pew survey also revealed that 45% of Americans as a whole say they seldom or never read their religion's holy books.

Perhaps if more Americans were reading the Bible then they would know what is truth and what is error. Instead, Americans have surrounded themselves with preachers and self-help coaches and ministers who tell them what they want to hear, who always make them feel comfortable and who never tell them about sin, holiness or the judgment of God.

The current situation in America reminds us of 2 Timothy 4:3.....

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

The sad reality is that the trends all show that church attendance in America is in decline.

Dave Olson, the director of church planting for the Evangelical Covenant Church, has done some really interesting research into the church attendance patterns of Americans.

Olson's findings contain a ton of bad news. For starters, his research found that the percentage of Americans regularly attending church is only 18.7%.

Olson has put his findings into an eye opening slideshow entitled "Twelve Surprising Facts about the US Church".

Here are some of the things that he found:

The percentage of people who actually physically attend a Christian church each week is quite a bit below what pollsters report.

The percentage of people who attended a Christian church each week decreased significantly between 1990 and 2000.

Only one state, Hawaii, actually saw an increase in the percentage of the population attending church between 1990 and 2000. Every other state in the entire nation saw a decrease in church attendance.

Evangelicals, mainline Protestants, and Catholics are each strong in very different regions of the nation.

The church planting rate has been declining steadily throughout the history of the United States.

If these current trends continue, the percentage of the U.S. population that attends church each week in 2050 will be about half of what it is today.

So is Christianity the religion of the future in America?

The way the trends are heading, it looks like the days when America could be called "a Christian nation" are quickly slipping away.

FEMA Camps

In the past two months, the debate about FEMA camps has gone from being relegated to the shadowy corners of the Internet to being featured on network television news and being discussed in the halls of the United States Congress.

During the administration of George W. Bush, FEMA was literally given hundreds of millions of dollars to change former military bases and other existing facilities into FEMA prison camps.

These camps can apparently be found in every state in the union, and they are all mostly empty at this point - ready to be filled up with prisoners in the event martial law is declared or some other "emergency" happens.

These camps are now even being discussed on national television. Just check out this recent clip of Glenn Beck on Fox News.....



The preparations for martial law in the U.S. seriously ramped up under George W. Bush, and they show no signs of slowing down at all under Barack Obama.

According to the Army Times, at least 20,000 U.S. troops are being deployed inside the United States to "help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack."

The reality is that the U.S. military is getting very prepared to implement martial law to combat the type of "domestic disorder" inside the United States that we have never seen in our lifetimes. Do they know something that we do not?

A U.S. Army War College report issued last fall said that the U.S. miliary must be ready for a "violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States" which could happen as a result of an "unforeseen economic collapse" or other disaster.

But the most chilling sign of all is a FEMA camp bill (HR 645) that was recently introduced in the United States Congress.

On January 22nd, Representative Alcee Hastings [D-FL] introduced a new bill in the U.S. House of Representatives called the National Emergency Centers Act (also known as HR 645).

If Congress passes this bill, the Department of Homeland Security will be REQUIRED to establish national emergency centers (FEMA camps) on closed military bases.

For years, mainstream apologists have tried to deny that the government was putting together a network of FEMA detention camps across the United States. But now the wording of this new law would require that closed military bases be converted into Homeland Security "emergency centers". Just check out this language from the bill: "Wherever possible, the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of Defense, shall designate a closed military installation as a site for a national emergency center."

Let's take a look at some of the specific language in this bill.....

"In accordance with the requirements of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall establish not fewer than 6 national emergency centers on military installations."

This law would require that AT LEAST 6 FEMA camps be established on military installations around the United States. But it does not set a maximum. So the number of FEMA camps established under this law could be 6 or it could be 60.

"(4) to meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security."

This language gives the Secretary of Homeland Security the authority to use these FEMA camps for any purpose that he or she wishes. That is a truly sobering thought.

".....capable of meeting for an extended period of time the housing, health, transportation, education, public works, humanitarian and other transition needs of a large number of individuals affected by an emergency or major disaster"

Note that the law would require that these FEMA camps be able to house (or imprison?) large populations for an extended period of time. There camps are not just being set up as command and control centers - they are being designed to hold "a large number of individuals".

".....capable of hosting the infrastructure necessary to rapidly adjust to temporary housing"

Once again we see that these FEMA camps specifically have the purpose of "housing" people.

(c) Location of National Emergency Centers- There shall be established not fewer than one national emergency center in each of the following areas:

(1) The area consisting of Federal Emergency Management Agency Regions I, II, and III.

(2) The area consisting of Federal Emergency Management Agency Region IV.

(3) The area consisting of Federal Emergency Management Agency Regions V and VII.

(4) The area consisting of Federal Emergency Management Agency Region VI.

(5) The area consisting of Federal Emergency Management Agency Regions VIII and X.

(6) The area consisting of Federal Emergency Management Agency Region IX.

Please note that the law REQUIRES that at least one of these FEMA camps be established in specific FEMA regions.

Which FEMA region do YOU live in?

If the Secretaries of Homeland Security and Defense jointly determine that there is not a sufficient number of closed military installations that meet the requirements of subsections (b) and (c), the Secretaries shall jointly designate portions of existing military installations other than closed military installations as national emergency centers.

This part of the bill actually requires the use of an active military base for a FEMA camp if there are not enough closed military bases to do the job.

Where do you think the FEMA camp closest to your house will be established?

Are you ready to go to a "national emergency center" when the government declares martial law?

What will your response be if they come to put you on a train that will take you and your family to one of these camps?

But you know what one of the saddest things is?

The machinery of martial law is being put into place, and the American people are hardly uttering a peep in protest.

The truth is that we do NOT need prison camps in the United States, and if this article upsets you, then please contact your representatives in Congress and tell them to stop this.

Designer Babies

Can you imagine a future where parents can pick the eye color, hair color, skin color and height of their new baby? Does that sound like some wild dream of the future? Well, the future is now. One Los Angeles fertility clinic is now offering to design babies to the exact specifications of the parents.

The Fertility Institute is calling this new technology "cosmetic medicine". Do you want your daughter to look like Barbie? Done. Just order up a tall, light-skinned, green-eyed, daughter with blonde hair and the clinic will do the rest.

This technology is based on something called "pre-implantation genetic diagnosis", or PGD, which doctors have been using the last few years to identify potentially deadly diseases in embryos. The technology has become so advanced that now doctors can not just spot potential diseases, but they can actually get enough information from an embryonic cell that they can identify thousands of characteristics of a single embryo.

The Fertility Institute anticipates that the very first "cosmetic medicine" baby will be born next year.

So how much does this cost? Only about 18,000 dollars.

While some are applauding this new technology, others are saying that this is yet another dangerous step down the path of transhumanism.

If you have not heard of transhumanism yet, you will soon. The science of genetic engineering is now so advanced that many scientists are now calling on humans to "direct" or "improve" their own "evolution".

A shocking new article by NewScientist has this attention getting headline - "Genetically modified humans: Here and more coming soon".

Among other things that article discusses is how a research team in the U.K. is actually experimenting with creating three parent embryos.

How would you like to have 3 parents?

Yuck!

All of this comes at a time when news is coming out that the U.K.'s first designer baby was recently born. That particular baby had just been screened for potential diseases, unlike the true "cosmetic medicine" babies that the L.A. clinic above is now working on.

Of course they make it sound really great. The mother was able to pick an embryo that is very unlikely to develop breast cancer. Who would be mean enough to be against that?

That is how they always introduce these things.

They make it sound like they are saving lives and preventing disease.

They make it sound wonderful.

But what about choosing embryos with blue eyes and blonde hair over other embryos?

Wouldn't choosing children who look more appealing give them a better chance for a happier life?

But many scientists want to take all of this far beyond just picking out the "best" human genes.

It is now scientifically possible to take genes from plants and animals and to put them into humans.

Do you want a stronger human?

It can be done.

Do you want a human that can glow in the dark?

They have already done it with fish and cats.

One of the scariest things of all is that now amateurs are trying genetic engineering at home.

It is crazy but it is true.

Bio engineer wannabes are sitting around their kitchens and living rooms and are creating entirely new lifeforms in the name of science.

Does anyone realize how dangerous this all is?

Hopefully someone does.

Proponents of this "biotechnology" believe that we are guiding our own "evolution" and that we are creating a better world for the future.

But they are so incredibly wrong.

The reality is that we are creating a world of cross-species freakazoids that will soon run rampant throughout society. Once all of these mutant creatures start breeding with the general population there will never, ever be a chance to put the genie back inside the bottle.

Is this what the future will be like? A world full of "designer children" and mutant freaks? It may sound like a fun science fiction movie, but in reality such a world would not not be good for any of us.
