Glenn Beck Publicly Sells Out Gun Owners, Militia Members And Other Members Of The Far Right On The Air

It seems that whenever the establishment wishes to demonize a particular group, they start claiming that they are "working with al-Qaeda". This time, a warning about an "unholy alliance" between "right wing extremists" and al-Qaeda is coming from a seemingly unlikely source: Glenn Beck.

On a recent show, Glenn Beck, who is supposed to be an "arch-conservative", publicly sold out gun owners, militia members and other members of the far right on the air.

In the video below, Beck and a guest are discussing a video by a supposed al-Qaeda leader who claims that he wants to smuggle Anthrax into the U.S. and attack the government. In the video, the al-Qaeda leader also states that al-Qaeda might want to team up with "members of native U.S. white supremacist militias who hate the federal government."

First of all, such a notion is completely and utterly ridiculous. The idea of white supremacists teaming up with al-Qaeda is so bizarre and so unlikely that anyone with half a brain knows that such a thing would never happen.

But in the video below notice how Beck jumps on the idea.

Notice how he points out how he has been warning of just such a thing for a long time.

Also notice how he subtly links white supremacists with "militia groups" and those who are anti-government.....

Do you see what is going on here?

Beck is purposely demonizing the growing liberty movement in the United States.

Millions of Americans are waking up to the fact that both political parties are owned by the bankers, that our rights are being stripped from us at blinding speed, and that most of our politicians and leaders don't even give lip service to the Constitution anymore.

In fact, these days if you talk about the Constitution too much you are likely to be labeled by authorities as someone who is likely to work with al-Qaeda.

The truth is that many civil libertarians and freedom activists are becoming increasingly alarmed by the trend towards massive political repression in the United States. Political candidates and organizations that are out of favor with the establishment are now actually being labeled as "dangerous" and as "potential terrorists" in official government reports.

For example, on February 20, 2009, the State of Missouri issued a stunning report entitled: "MIAC Strategic Report: The Modern Militia Movement."

That law enforcement report labeled individuals who supported presidential candidates Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and Chuck Baldwin as "dangerous" and inferred that those individuals are potential terrorists.

In addition, people of various other ideologies were singled out as being potentially dangerous in the report.

The MIAC report instructed police and other government officials that the following political views are "dangerous" and could signal that someone is a potential terrorist:

*Anyone opposing abortion

*Anyone opposing illegal immigration

*Anyone who believes that the New World Order is a threat

*Anyone who is against the North American Union

*Anyone who is against the income tax

*Anyone who has a negative view of the U.N.

It is interesting to note that no left-leaning political ideologies or organizations were identified in the report. Neither were Islamic extremists mentioned in the report. Apparently only those who support candidates like Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin are considered to be dangerous.

These are exactly the type of tactics that were used in Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia to demonize and crush political opposition. When official government reports start labeling supporters of certain political candidates as "potential terrorists" all Americans should start getting alarmed.

It doesn't matter how you feel about those candidates. For instance, you may hate what Ron Paul stands for. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that when official government reports openly attack certain political groups, we are all being attacked.

Another example of this disturbing trend towards political repression is the recent Department of Homeland Security report on "right wing extremism" that created a firestorm of controversy across America.

Why was there such an incredible uproar over that report?

Because it labeled tens of millions of Americans as "potential domestic terrorists".

Below is a list of 14 characteristics of a "domestic terrorist" that were pulled right out of this report.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, you might be a domestic terrorist if.....

*you are a U.S. military veteran returning from duty in Iraq or Afghanistan

*you believe in "end times" prophecies

*you believe in state's rights

*you are against abortion

*you are against illegal immigration

*you believe in the 2nd Amendment

*you criticize any of the free trade agreements the U.S. has made

*you are against same-sex marriage

*you believe that an economic collapse is happening

*you think that the U.S. may declare martial law someday

*you believe that the U.S. is creating detention camps

*you stockpile food, ammunition or weapons

*you believe that illegal immigrants are taking away American jobs

*you believe "New World Order" conspiracy theories

Quite a few of those apply to me, so it looks like I have made the list.

Have you made the list?

Has your own government just labeled you a potential domestic terrorist?

The truth is that when even "arch-conservatives" like Glenn Beck start warning that people who don't agree with the government might be "working with al-Qaeda", we should all get really, really nervous.

We have seen this kind of demonization and political repression happen before. Don't let it happen in the United States.

First, let me start by stating that based on the DHS report, I am definately in agreement with you about them taking steps toward severe political repression. I myself have become an activist for liberty as well. I'm more than certain that I'm on somebody's list as I am currently flying a Gadsden Flag outside my home.

So, after having read your article, in addition to some inaccuracies regarding the video piece, I think also that you missed your mark.

First, Glenn Beck is NOT discussing this issue "with a guest" as you state; he's addressing his television viewers directly. I DVR his show daily, and I watched this segment several times after reading your article here and viewing the video clip.

Second, the "One Thing" segment is something he does on a regular basis and it refers to the "one thing" the main stream media ISN'T talking about. Thus, Beck here isn't a "source." He's an conduit that is delivering information that you likely won't hear anywhere else on TV.

I'd like to ask you some honest questions. - did you watch the show in its entirety? Have you watched the show since it started on Fox in January? Have you watched Beck when he was on CNN for two years prior? Have you listened to his radio show for the last five years? I'd sincerely like to know.

As you pointed out, Beck said if we've been watching his show he "has been warning of just such a thing for a long time." Then you state, accurately in my opinion, "The idea of white supremacists teaming up with al-Qaeda is so bizarre and so unlikely that anyone with half a brain knows that such a thing would never happen."

But you're not dealing with half-brained people. Glenn Beck (a self-proclaimed libertarian) aside, you're dealing with the MINDS OF WARPED-BRAINED PEOPLE OF THE US GOVERNMENT - The same people who put out that stupid DHS report.
It should not alarm us so much that the DHS put out this report but rather the MOTIVE behind putting it out. It's a huge step toward identifying and marginalizing the enemy."

I believe you missed the point by using part of Beck's show - what he has been warning about is HOW the government is going to turn people who are fighting for liberty into the enemy of their "democracy." Preceding Beck's "warning" was Beck's report on the Al-Qaeda recruiter and his relationship with Osama bin Laden. These people are professional terrorists - you don't think it's occurred to them to isolate a certain population portion and USE them to achieve their agenda? (HELLO! THIS IS THE PALESTINIAN STORY!) Do you understand what I am saying??
Yes, it is INSANE that those of us whom DHS has labled RWEs would pair up with Islamist terrorist. But in the minds of the terrorists it is not. And that makes for convenience on the part of the US government.

The US Government would be only to happy to align us "Right-Wing Extremists" with "al-Qaeda operatives". Wouldn't that be convenient? All the things you listed here in your article from the DHS report would be difficult to prove; but now that the President Pretend has publicly demonized Al-Qaeda to the whole world (speech in Cairo 6.4.2009) we have an enemy with a face. All you have to do is pair up that enemy with the new "RWEs" and you have a recipie for suspending habeus corpus and all us "crazy" people are in the camps.

I think failing to see a bigger picture in terms of what our indideously warped government is going to do with people who don't agree with them is detrimental to the cause of fighting for freedom. Demonizing someone who is trying to relay important information, sometimes cryptically (you'd know this if you watched/listened on a regular basis), is a waste of energy.

Yes, the US government has become an enemy to us liberty lovers. But Glenn Beck has nothing to do with it.

Thanks for taking time to read my response.

On balance I think Beck is doing a good job. He's a work in progress. Don't forget that he once associated Ron Paul supporters with terrorists.

I don't get it. I watched the video and heard nothing mentioned about militia or gun owners or anything like that.

If you listen to Glenn Beck regularly or even watched this segment in context you would understand that he is NOT doing what you are accusing him of doing... Glenn is an independent thinker and is not on "their" side - we need people like him to wake people up. He's not quite a new world order conspiracy theorist, but it doesn't matter because he is a truth seeker and can only help the cause of freedom - which he has a firm understanding of.
